My lovely friend Roxanne (of Owl Moon Studio in the blog roll) made a cake for my birthday today.

She’s so impressive.

Instructions: Pile Ho-Ho’s, Ding-Dongs, & Funny Bones onto plate with artistic flair.  Dust with powdered sugar.  Insert candles.

This is my kind of baking:

Thank you, Roxanne!

I think the powdered sugar gives that little touch of elegance.
Hope the rest of your day was more fun.
But what could be more fun than a morning spent looking at magnified pond scum bugs?!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Be thankful you don’t have to hear me sing is all I can say! I hope you enjoyed your mound of ho-hos, twinkies, and ding a lings. Wow. That sounds sexual, doesn’t it?

OH shit i missed your birthda? well happy birthday!

  9. kaylee2 Says:

OH i can do much better than that in fact I hate the way my family bakes so i told then i am making my own birthday cake on the 26th(yes i am 17 then)! ;) I am a stubborn ass LOL!

This is an incredibly smart & pro-active approach, kind of like buying your own presents rather than expecting your husband to read your mind!

  10. Red Says:

    Mmm .. sugar high!!
Hope you had a most wonderfullll birthday, Pam!
    Hugsssss!!!

Thanks, Red:) It really was a good one — well, except the part where my hair didn’t come out the color it was supposed to . . . my husband dyed it for me and no way in hell did it come out like the picture on the box. WTF?

  11. Happy Birthday! That cake is pretty cool. That’s a pretty cool friend you have there. I’ve been looking for a craft that calls to me and captures my creative essence (or something like that) and this could be it. :P I am so gonna make a cake like that the next time an occasion calls for such a concoction. I can’t wait. ;)

I was thinking the same thing — this is something I could actually do in the future!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! That’s my kind of cake, easy to make and yummy!

I’m totally into “easy to make”!

  13. I love it!!

Now that’s just my style! :)

And can you believe I was able to love it and still not eat a piece? Perhaps I am maturing . . .

    Happy Birthday!!!

I wish people would do that for weddings too!
